Ben joined the school in 2009 and originally worked as a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant. Ben worked with students from the age of 6 - 16, in both small group and one-to-one capacity.

Over the years Ben's role expanded some what and he took on an element of teaching, primarily our specialist learning support Assistive Technology sessions but also Year 7 & 8 Religious Studies.

His role also includes administration of the SEN department, IT & technical expertise (including the school's website) and marketing (organising open days, meeting parents & Local Authorities, Newsletters, Printed & Online advertising).

Ben has been fortunate to sit on various school planning teams/strategic planning groups, including the development and opening of a new infants department. He's also been involved with the fundraising, development and opening of a new multi-sensory library for the school.

As administrator for the SEN department this has involved Ben working with the Head of Learning Support/Deputy Head, to ensure provision matches pupil needs, responding to professional requests for information, scheduling and holding of Annual Reviews, staff timetabling, everyday office management and much, much more!

In September 2013, Ben's role was formalised into the SEN Administrator position and this forms an integral part of the school's management.
